What Are You Playing this Week?
03.19.09
by Sean

I am sitting at my desk this morning, licking my wounds after my own atrocious showing at last night's Killzone 2 multiplayer event. First of all, let me say the following to Voyou San: yes, I could hear you. Yes, I did join the Squad, perhaps not in as timely a fashion as you might have liked. However, my headset would not pair, and therefore I couldn't respond to you repeatedly and loudly calling me out for my suckage. I'M SORRY!
So apart from clearly needing to get more practice time in on Killzone 2, this week will have me playing a handful of other games. Although it lacks almost all of the scare factor of its predecessor, Resident Evil 5 has enough going for it to make sure I'll be getting a ton of playtime in with it. I was able to play through the first two chapters on Friday night, but haven't gotten near it since.
With the NCAA Tournament selections coming out last night, it's time for me to fire up NCAA Basketball 09: March Madness Edition. I had some extra MS
burning a hole in my hard drive, so I decided to drop the $15 on this stand alone seasonal game. It is now my intention to take Villanova to the big dance in Detroit, and after that, I will try the same with my own alma mater, Temple. Having played a the first game last night I can tell you that this DLC game certainly won't win any "_______ of the Year" awards, but it's enough to feed my NCAA habit when there aren't any games on.
You can also be assured that I'm going to be getting a lot of NHL 09 time in. At the behest of many people, I finally deleted my original created character (who was still only an AHL second line winger with 67 points in 40 games) and have recreated myself as a sniper. If I can't get this guy into the NHL, I'll eat my hat!
There's also a better than average chance that I'll be playing more H.A.W.X. online. Although I've finished the campaign, there are still many many jets and weapons packs left to unlock.
So that's my week. What about you? What are you playing this week?

Gears of War 2 and copious amounts of Resident Evil 5.
All of my gaming time goes to RE5, and maybe a little MLB 09 The show
after deleting my first character i am now on to replaying all of Skate 2. Because for some odd reason i can't figure out how to make a new character without deleting the old one. Also a little Afro Samurai (though i am getting bored with it).
Ummm, that's too many men on the court.
Also too many planes....I guess one too many.
And no guns. There are definitely no guns allowed in any postseason play...
Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 Soulcalibur IV Resident Evil 4 Perfect Dark Zero
RE5... MLB09... and.... more MadWorld. Pretty quiet week for me.
KZ2 and RE5 Co-op. If I have time RB6:Vegas and FEAR.
@Sean
Disappointed that I didn't get to run into/kill you last night.
@00.19
MLB09 or Madworld? I am a big baseball fan but I don't know if any of my friends are getting this. Sean convinced me to get The Show but was curious of your opinion. Either way I''m keeping The Show.
Star Ocean, Legacy of Ys for the DS, and I'd like to get started on Resident Evil 5, after having no time to play it last weekend.
Killzone 2, FIFA 09, MLB 09 The Show, Persona 4
shagino: my full thoughts on mlb09 can be found in the review, but in short... get the game. it's awesome, and if you need people to play with, we will be having a gamervision league sometime around the beginning of april. madworld is a blast to play, but if you had to choose based on which you were going to play for a longer duration of the year, you have to go with mlb09.
Peggle.
00.19: Thanks. Read the review earlier. That's what had me considering it. Sean had the same assessment. He didn't seem to like Madworld all that much though. Was curious since you seem to really like Madworld.
I'll be forcing myself not to download Peggle by playing everything else.
@shagino: let me be clear - I wasn't necessarily saying that I didn't like Madworld. In the interest of full disclosure, I haven't even played it yet. I was just saying that given the choice between one of the best baseball games of all time on the PS3, and a Wii game (no matter how good the quality), I will always opt for the sports.
Nothing until Thursday night, really, because I've got some hard homework to take care of in my Physics class. BUT on Thursday night I will be logging onto Killzone 2, Gitaroo Man Lives!, Tiger Woods 09, and some Professor Layton. Otherwise I'm not sure what this week will bring me.
Anyone up for another multiplayer session on Killzone 2 this weekend? Sean; headset? Muahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!
P.S.
Ame is right here next to me, hugging me with her poisonous stomach flu, making me sick to my stomach. BIOLOGICAL WARFARE!!!!! (lolz)
@Sean: Ah, got it. My problem with sports games are that I get tired of playing the CPU. Last year, I barely played Madden since most of my friends didn't get it. Seems like there's quite a few people here playing so hopefully I'll be able to get a bunch of games in. I'm trying to get Eric(not sure if you remember him) to get it. We've been playing RE5 Co-op lately.
