Wii Breaks 6 Million Units Sold in U.K.
Wot, wot? Pip, pip, jolly good sales figures chap!

Ever hear of a company called Nintendo? If not, I'll allow you a minute to go look them up on the search engine of your choice. Go on, I'll wait here. For the other 5.99 billion of you, you may remember that pretty much every piece of hardware the company has made in the past two decades has sold somewhere in the tens of centillions, give or take. In keeping with that trend, an MCV report is claiming that its latest ATM console has surpassed yet another sales milestone, selling 6 million in the Great Britian in the three years since its release.
Although sales for the waggle box were already on track to reach this number, analysts believe that the release of the Black Wii in Europe in mid-November helped push the figure to this mark. 2008 was the Wii's best year in England, with 2.73 million sold, compared to 1.81 million in 2007, and 1.31 million so far this year.
Honestly, I don't know how many different ways there are to say it - Nintendo knows how to make consoles that people buy in mass quantities. Sure, the company has earned a reputation (perhaps fairly) for turning its back on the so-called "hardcore" audience, but since the trade-off seems to be limitless mass appeal and ridiculous sales numbers, I don't see that model changing anytime soon.
