Wolfenstein Co-Sponsoring Inglorious Basterds Premiere

You Don't Often See Publishers Lining Up to Sponsor Nazi Films

by Sean

A press release sent out today by Activision and id Software let it be known that the world premiere of Inglorious Basterds, Quentin Tarantino's upcoming World War II film, would be co-sponsored by the soon-to-be-released FPS reboot Wolfenstein. The promotion is part of id's push to beat back the Reich, which is divided into two parts: 1. the release of the game on August 18th and 2. the release of the film on the 21st.

Apart from hanging Wolfenstein banners all over the red carpet, id is also sponsoring a contest for two lucky gamers to attend the premiere at the famed Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood, CA on August 10th. The prize pack includes two round-trip tickets for a four day, three night stay in Los Angeles, two tickets to the premier and two tickets to the star-studded after-party at Mondrian in West Hollywood. If you're interested in entering the contest, you can find all the details here.

I plan to see Inglorious Basterds day one, so it was almost a no-brainer for me to enter the contest. As it says on the contest website, "show your dedication to killing Nazis and hobnobbing with celebrities by entering!" Sound good?

it's more like an anti-nazi film, isn't it? it's not like the movie's tagline is "go hitler!"
