Xbox Live Update 10.12.09
Sam & Max, Axel & Pixel, and Hasbro
by Sean

This week, Microsoft will be adding a pair of games to the Xbox Live Arcade, including the trippy artwork-inspired Axel and Pixel for 800
. But more importantly, and at a much better price, is Sam & Max Season 2 for only 1600
. That's a savings of ten dollars compared to the price for the Wii version of Season One, so you really should be getting it. Both games will be added on Wednesday.
Oh, and as if Sam & Max wasn't a good enough deal, the "Deal of the Week" is Hasbro's Family Game Night at 50% off.

One day Axel, a painter, and his dog Pixel, awaken trapped in a beautiful but perilous dream world of his own creation. Together, they must solve the mysteries of Axel's landscapes to get home. Guide Axel & Pixel through this awe-inspiring world to help Axel fulfill his greatest wish—to paint a picture of all four seasons in a single day.
- Exquisite setting: Drawn by hand and rendered in full high-definition, Axel & Pixel is a unique journey through an artist's dream.
- Lots of gameplay: Unlock the full game for 24 stunning chapters set in four different seasons, with three vehicle mini-games, and many challenging puzzles.

Sam & Max Season Two will feature the same quick wit and bizarre scenarios Telltale's team and Sam & Max creator Steve Purcell delivered the first time around—and more! "We're sticking with the dramatic structure and accessible gameplay style that are working so well, focusing on telling crazier stories, and telling them better," says Telltale's design director Dave Grossman. "You'll see some changes to the world; improvements that were born out of player feedback and our own desire to create the smoothest and most entertaining experience possible."

If you've been looking for a good at-home game night, each of the Hasbro Family games (Battleship, Connect 4, Scrabble, Yahtzee, Boggle and Sorry Sliders) can be yours for 400
.
