You Got Co-op in My Shank Trailer!
No, You Got Shank in My Co-op Trailer!

During last year's PAX East and PAX Prime, our own Coop got a chance to test an early build of Shank, the upcoming downloadable stab-em-up from EA and Klei. His impressions of the game piqued my interest, and the trailers and screenshots released since then got me excited for the game, verging on the point of a day-one purchase. Earlier this week, the companies announced the release date for the game, which will be hitting the PSN and XBLA on August 24th and 25th. Today, a new trailer shows off a newly revealed mode for the game, local co-op play. In it we see the game's nameless protagonist fighting alongside his buddy, who looks eerily similar to Danny Trejo, a.k.a. Johnny 23 from Con Air.
According to a post on the game's official site, the co-op campaign will flesh out some of the backstory of Shank, and give players a fuller understanding of the game's world. Considering the game was written by God of War co-creator Marianne Krawczyk, I can only imagine that the full story of Shank will be more in-depth than most of your average downloadable title. Granted, games like Braid and Sam & Max have great storylines, but for every one of those games there's an equal number of Geometry Wars, Trials HD, and Puzzle Quest-style games that, while great, aren't exactly story-driven.

Gonna be awesome, any word on how much it's going to be?
