Perfect Timing...
The World has it in for me I swear
by seanasaurus
Rock Band 2 shipped today and will be in stores Sunday. What's the best way to celebrate this occasion? How about stringing up thre festive red lights around the power button on my 360. Sounds perfect! Wait a second!
Yup, after almost three years of flawless service I got RRoD'ed. Should take up to 2-3 weeks for delivery of a new system. Oh well, look on the bright side... now the only distraction I have from school work is Spore.

Oh man, bad timing! At least you're still covered by the warranty. Man, everyone I know is getting those red rings lately, myself included.
You know this is what almost stoped me from buying my 360. But I have never had one problem with my 360.
you should come play it with us!
@nikkita: I'm packing my drums as we speak. Don't be surprised if I arrive in tears.
Sucks, dude.....at least you don't have to wait a whole other month like us lowly PS3 players...not that I'll really have the money for it next month, either....
@ Sarah:
RROD's are covered whether the warranty is in place or not. Mine was out by about a good six months or so and they still did their service. Even if you have 20 RROD's (oh God, why!?!) they'd keep sending you a new/refurbished unit. That they can handle.
wow a 360 that died due to red lights... ive never heard of that happening..
sucks bro
Ouch. Mine died right before Army of Two, which sucked, but I didn't really miss out on much. I did hear from a few people on Halo 3 night that they came home to it, like walking in on a cheating wife. Except suckier.
In all honesty, is there ever a good time for your 360 to RedRing?
No.
I love these stories, because despite everyone saying, "I didn't think it could happen to me" or, "It has worked fine for x years...", I'm still fairly confident that mine IS invincible, and it COULDN'T happen to me...
My own hubris is so entertaining to me, I think I'll keep it up. That way you all can enjoy my epic fall off my high horse if/when it does happen.
pssshhh.....like it ever could....
For your reading pleasure... I was cruising the Xbox troubleshooting section and found this gem. Keep in mind that, with this error, I can not even bring the system to the dashboard. Their fix is quite helpful... /facepalm
