The Large Hadron Collider almost killed us...

Yep it was THIS close !

by SebsokK

Look at what the folks at Joystiq have found...

The truth about the LHC... Gordon Freeman was here !

Look at him : we can see it in his eyes... We can see he's waiting for the right moment to push the wrong lever, or swing his crowbar around... or worse !

Wow, I didn't really take the guys which were protesting against the LHC seriously, or maybe I didn't really care at all... All I can think about lately is Fallout 3, but now I can only shiver as I realize what could have happen !

Actually, they just turned it on. The collision will be tested in October, I think.

I don't know if I should be worried or relieved that Gordon Freeman is there, though.

Sebsokk, you'll be able to see it...as long as you avoid the headcrabs.

This is pretty cool, they've set up live webcams for the LHC.

I am so pumped for this thing to get started though. Hey, if there is a black hole made we can finally discover what happens when you get sucked into one. Maybe we'll all go to backwards land, where you burp where you fart and you fart where you burp.

I think, in the end, that a "black hole" is just a figure of speech. Although it would suck if it happened. I'm hoping that this helps us advance our technologies exponentially within the upcoming years and enable us to utilize a new source of [perpetual] energy. Maybe even colonization of the moon or another planet. That would be nice.

What this project proves, so far, is that science fiction has a habit of becoming science fact. Star Trek communicators = cellular phones, for example.
