Red Dead Redemption (Xbox 360)
It’s not often I will rant about how amazing something is… to this degree – but Rockstar have done something truely fantastic with this wistfully western wigwam of subtle social commentary.

Despite being an innovative scenero with a vast array of varied gameplay, fans of the GTA series will be familiar with the dynamic of this title from the moment they slot in the disc. RDR shares the best bits of its contemporary counterpart – it is a GTA game under the bonnet – but also presents the player with so much more.
Stylistically the game is as flawlessly smooth and full of character as any game I’ve ever seen. Red Dead Redemption is full of the legendary Rockstar polish characteristic of it’s back catalogue.
RDR is atmospheric to a degree which I saunter round claiming ‘full on’ ‘has never been achieved before’ – despite that being exactly what I think whenever I look at any one given individual aspect of this title, or the title as one whole fantastic package.
From the beautiful dusty sunrises contained within the in games visuals themselves to the slick trademark character art, that Rockstar are so famous and admired for, the game is an exellent concept overlayed perfectly upon the framework of an excellent, polished and refined engine. Nothing but class here ladies and gentlemen.
