Good news, Seattle. Life just keeps on getting better for you. Seattle based company and super distributor of nearly anything you've ever wanted Amazon.com has launched a greener alternative for delivery to the lucky residents of their shared lovely, albeit rainy, city. AmazonTote is the name, hand delivered tote bags is the game.
So wait, what's the deal? It's quite simple (and cheap!). AmazonTote is a free weekly service that delivers, by hand, to a number of designated zip codes in the Seattle area. There are no subscriptions or fees, and you don't even have to be a member of AmazonPrime. Just a Seattle resident. If you make multiple orders, they will all arrive within the same "Tote Day" delivery. The totes can then be returned/reused for your next delivery, or if you really like totes so much you can just keep them.

Now, it goes without saying that Amazon offers a ridiculous amount of merchandise through both their warehouses and other sellers. Not all of these products will be available for tote service for tote loving Seattle customers. But, like Amazon itself, the AmazonTote inventory is expanding exponentially so you'll be sure to save a good amount of money on shipping regardless (not to mention all that cardboard and packing materials).
There's something so incredibly sweet about this service. Especially since Amazon has grown so inconceivably big, eating tiny and independent businesses for breakfast. Being a leader of the pack, I'm impressed with their initiative to make a positive example and I really hope this catches on to other cities and other companies. Granted, I'd love to see the independents grow and flourish too, but much like a political election, going tote is voting for a lesser of two evils. Way to go, Amazon. Now bring the totes to Philadelphia, pretty please!
