Girlyness is a strange thing. It doesn't necessarily strike every female, and in my family it seems to actually skip generations. But one detail of femininity that seems to be more constant than dresses and makeup is nail polish. And man do a nice set of painted digits look good against your controller, keyboard, iPod and phone. Still, your girlyness levels are going to have a direct effect on your manicure result. Oddly enough, it's a crafty geek enthusiast who is putting in some extreme effort for her set of nails.

I don't want to say that Craftster HolyPunsBatman has a lot of time, but damn does she have a lot of patience. The Sonic The Hedgehog 2 landscape shown above was actually her first attempt at recreating a video game on her hand using a whole bunch of nail polish and acrylic paint (yikes). Unfortunately, these pictures were taken before the addition of Tails (aka my imaginary best friend).

And because practice makes perfect, the Sonic nails led to even better things like Super Mario 3 nails and Mortal Kombat nails. That's right, Mortal Kombat. And yes, that's Scorpion fighting Baraka. Apparently her left hand had Sub-Zero and Sektor. 

It looks like the next set will be Tetris, but our lady of acrylic is open to suggestions. What would you guys suggest?
