Today's Sundae: Keyboard Cat, Snake and double rainbows!

Keyboard Cat Lives, Greeeeaaaaaattttt

San Diego Comic-Con will come to a close today, concluding a stretch of the most geeky saturated days of the year. It goes without saying that cosplay is major part of the event, allowing fans to celebrate Halloween a few months early with bucketloads of more effort. And while I'd love to pay some credit to the brave three who went as the Human Centipede, my gag reflex doesn't really support it. It's okay, they already won $1,000. But if you're as traumatized as myself, you can take your mind of it all with Ron Livingston as Keyboard Cat. Probably in the comfort of his own home.

As if my inexplicable crush on Ron Livingston wasn't inexplicable enough already, he had to put on cat ears. What is wrong with me? Regardless, thank you, Peter. Don't worry about the TPS reports and just enjoy the day with your keyboard.

Shitterton's Shitty Ton Sign

When you name a town Shitterton, you're asking for some trouble. Luckily, it's been more of a case of stolen signs than a monkey inspired poo-fling fest. Still after having the town's beloved Shitterton sign being stolen at least 3 times over the course of 20 years, you would probably start to get tired of it, hence why council stopped replacing the sign altogether. But now Shitterton has a solution. Proud Shitterton resident Ian Ventham collected money from neighbors to buy a sign that no one could or would want to steal, a giant stone weighing over a ton.

"I don't think it was malicious, they just did it for fun, but it was exasperating for us. We would get a nice new shiny sign from the council and five minutes later, it was gone."

Not only was the lack of a sign annoying, he said, but "it could make life confusing for delivery drivers". "It was my wife's idea to carve it out of stone," he said. "We thought, 'Let's put in a ton and a half of stone and see them try and take that away in the back of a Ford Fiesta'."

Mr Ventham, a retired RNLI director, wrote to neighbours asking them to donate £20 towards the cost of the immovable sign. Of 50 households, well over half contributed. After being told of the plan, Purbeck district council agreed to give £70 towards the cost.

Congratulations on the new sign, Shitterton. And thank you for giving me the opportunity to say "Shitterton" 7 times in one sitting.

YouTube Snake

Well, isn't that cute? No, not Danny Trejo (sorry, Tío). YouTube has hidden a special little feature for all you people that throw hours of your days away watching videos. So in case that wasn't enough, now you can also play Snake simultaneously and equally as mindlessly. Eh, maybe not. Snake is kind of hard. Anyway, what to do: Pick a video, pause it, hold the left arrow down until the game appears and play! I played along to the new red band Machete trailer. My brain kind of hurts from all the awesome. I would probably suggest something a little less distracting (and less stabby).

Enjoy!

Guitar Hero Birthday Cake

I struggle to remember what my birthday cake looked like when I turned 16. It probably wasn't as cool as the giant chocolate princess cake I got this year and it most definitely wasn't as cool as Coop's sister Aryn's Guitar Hero cake. Then again, I didn't discover my inner rock goddess until much later, so good for you, Aryn. Happy happy birthday! Now everyone be nice and wish her a tasteful "happy birthday" too. No dirty jokes, Luke. The cyber police are watching.

Double Rainbow Tribute

To be completely honest, I was annoyed and over with the double rainbow thing the moment he started flipping out about a triple rainbow. Surprisingly, my stupid tolerance is pretty low and spending as much time as I do working on the internet, I fill my quota pretty early in the day. However the double rainbow tribute by Rocket Hands, "Double Rainbow (All The Way)" got some lolz out of me. It sounds like what every one of my high school's bands wanted to sound like and what every band in my kick-ass albeit bizarre hometown does sound like. It also helps that I totally forgot about "Rainbow Road" until now, so thank you. I'll be requesting a special cover from Ween very soon.

The expressions on Ron Livingston's face are really what make that video worth watching.
