Earlier this week, the third installment of the Twilight series, Eclipse, swept theaters. Again. In celebration of the overwhelmingly popular abstinent vampire phenomenon, YouTuber TheStation has created an interactive 8-bit game so you can finally call the shots for Bella. Or kill her off. Your choice.

Now, I'm not very well versed in Twilight. Hell, I had never even heard of it until well after the first film and even though some of my friends have fallen under the spell of Edward Cullen and co., I remain unnerved by the whole series. Then again, I watch True Blood. When I think of vampires getting intimate, I think of twisting heads, broken necks and lots of blood. At least as of last Sunday's episode. Anyway, my trashy celebrity blogs have provided me with enough information to make my way through a round.

Like other YouTube choose-your-own-adventure-esque interactive videos, the 8-Bit Twilight Eclipse Interactive is split into a series of videos to allow you to make your own decisions, interlaced with dramatic 8-bit cut scenes that look much more like the characters than in the game itself. Ah, just like they used to make them.

All in all, it's worth at least a try if just to appreciate the nostalgia and humor of some 8-bit cheesiness. Granted, I have no idea if it is at all accurate in any way, which tends to... upset the fans. I'm guessing not (meh, I'm not really one to care). Though I will admit that I'm kind of disappointed by the consequences of my actions. But I guess that's what you get when you try to achieve the most ridiculous outcome. If only I knew that hooking up with the werewolf would kill Edward with a broken heart. Dammit. I really can't stand that Taylor/Jacob kid's face. How embarrassing.
