"Jimmy's Vengeance" is Second Mafia II DLC

Just When I Thought I Was Out... They Pull Me Back In.

I didn’t hate Mafia II, but I can’t say I particularly liked it, either.  Despite some interesting innovations and gorgeous visuals, the game’s mission structure and narrative left me flat, and by the time it was all over, I was glad to be done with it.  Why, them, do I find myself interested in the second DLC pack for the game, Jimmy’s Vengeance?

Obviously, this DLC stars Jimmy, "the guy the other guys call when they need to finish the job,” and includes 30 new missions, varying from assassinations to high-speed shoot-outs.  Featuring an arcade-style scoring system, players will be able to rack up high scores by dispatching enemies in quick succession, then post their scores on the online leaderboards.  Jimmy’s Vengeance is the seconds DLC pack for Mafia II, but the first pack, The Betrayal of Jimmy, was a PS3 exclusive, meaning that PC and 360 players will be getting their first add-on to the

Perhaps it’s the promise of a new set of characters, or the possibility that arcade-style scoring might translate into replayability, but for whatever reason, I’ve got my eye on Jimmy’s Vengeance.  At $9.99 or 800, 30 missions sounds like a decent deal, too.  In fact, the main game felt like it couldn’t have been more than 50 missions, and that was a full $60.  The DLC pack will be released on September 7, and dammit, I just might buy it.
