August Burnout Paradise Update: Motorcycles!
...and Night Driving
If there was one thing you could add to the already impressive experience of Burnout Paradise, what would it be? Crash Mode, probably. Well, that’s not happening, so what’s your second and third choices? Did you say motorcycles and night driving? Wow, Criterion is really listening to your needs!
Come August, we’ll be treated to an update for the racing game, called “Davis.” The cryptically named update will include night driving as well as motorcycles, complete with human riders and new cycle-centric challenges and areas.
In a game like Burnout, where realism is a brief afterthought, one wonders how the motorcycle crashes will be handled. Will there be full rag-doll physics (something that is in no way native to the existing game) on the riders, or will they just disappear when you crash? Maybe they’ll be permanent parts of the bikes, courageously hanging on as their crotch-rocket flips and disintegrates after 1 175 mph collision with a bridge support. Who knows? I’d wager that approximately 100% of people are hoping for the rag-doll physics, but is that too much to ask for in an update?
Also, will we have to pay for it? And where the hell is our Crash Mode?!?!

I would guess that the rider stays permanently connected to the bike.
I might pick it up then.
I am with Robot on this one. ;)
WHAT?!
Sean - You might be right, but man, do I hope you're wrong. If that's the case, then I say they shouldn't have bothered.
They could easily just make every crash result in a massive fireball explosion.
Problem solved, Criterion.
You're welcome...
