Best of E3 Winners Announced
No Huge Surprises From Game Critics Awards
The winners of the Game Critics Best of E3 Awards were announced this week, and despite my initial misgivings about the nominees, which were announced last week, I couldn’t agree more with the results. The game that blew me away more than any other was Fallout 3, and the GCA agrees, giving it their Best of Show award over worthy competition from titles like Gears of War 2 and Spore. It also won Best Role Playing Game, edging out the little-known Dragon Age: Origins and the much hyped Fable 2. Also winning two awards was LittleBigPlanet, for Best Console Game and Best Social/Casual/Puzzle Game. My only disappointment on the list is Pure winning Best Racing Game; not because it’s not a promising title, but because it’s one of the few games I didn’t get to try out at the summit.
