Admittedly, we all kind of knew that Frank West, protagonist of Capcom’s Dead Rising, was going to appear in the US version of the upcoming Wii-exclusive fighter, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom.  Since early June, we’ve been aware that US-exclusive characters would be included in the localized version of the game, and, more recently, the rumor of one of those characters being Frank West have been popping up all over the place.  Capcom has finally confirmed it.  They also released some snazzy pics of the photographer in conflict with other characters, teaming up with Viewtiful Joe, and generally obliterating opponents with a baseball bat.  There’s a video as well, that shows Frank’s various offensive options, as well as his unique style and attitude.  Take a look.

The voice of Frank sounds a little weird, but you gotta love those special attacks.  Adding more characters that American fans are more familiar with to TvC is a great idea, and Frank is a very good place to start.  There are plenty more Capcom properties that enjoy more success than in Japan, like Ghosts N’ Goblins, Strider, Star Gladiator, Devil May Cry, and Power Stone.  Here’s hoping that TvC gets at least a couple of characters from these games.
