Capcom Teases Dee Jay and T. Hawk for Street Fighter IV

Sadly, Still No News on Skullomania

by Veggie Jackson

Pulling together the entire roster of the original Street Fighter II, along with the best characters from Super Street Fighter II Turbo and Street Fighter Alpha, as well as four new characters created specifically for the new game, the Street Fighter IV roster is an excellent representation of the core Street Fighter Universe.  As far as the old-school characters go, there are really only two fighters left out of the proceedings; Dee Jay and T. Hawk.

While neither of these World Warriors are likely to win any “Favorite Character” contests any time soon, Capcom considered using them in Street Fighter IV, going so far as to create incomplete character models for both.  Now it looks as if we may see them in the game after all, possibly in the form of DLC. Street Fighter IV Producer Yoshinori Ono, in an interview with IGN, stated that, if there’s enough fan support, the two could see action in arcades and on home consoles.  Ono didn’t specifically say whether the characters would be coming via DLC or in a separate retail release, but did tease the possibility of a Championship Edition of Street Fighter IV.

I’ve been playing Street Fighter IV pretty steadily since it came out two days ago, and as much as I love the game, all I can think while playing is “I wonder what (character X) would look like in this art style,” so the inclusion of more characters would be very welcome to me, and, I’m sure, many other gamers.  Obvously, there are no details, as this wasn’t a confirmation in any way, but the game seems primed for more downloadable characters, and we’ll be keeping our eyes on Capcom for any future announcements.

i personally really liked Dee Jay so it would be cool to see him in the game. Didn''t ever play much as T. Hawk

I REALLY could care less about having Dee Jay and T. Hawk. I think they are by far some of THE worst SF characters ever made. I'd rather have a "Super Dan" than them.

Give us some other kick ass characters.
