Yesterday we learned via Microsoft's E3 press conference that Crackdown 2 is on its way to the Xbox 360.  Today, by way of Xbox.com, we learn a bit more about the game; specifically, how many of us will be playing it.

Crackdown 2 is now officially listed on the site, and its details reveal that the game will have a four-player co-op mode.  Also listed in the details is the fact that the game will support up to 16 players online.  The previous Crackdown had only 2-player co-op, so both of these are huge steps up from the original.

Without the benefit of a Halo 3 beta key, I’m not totally sure that a Crackdown game will sell.  The first one was actually a pretty good game, but early admission to Halo 3 is what really sold units.  We’ll see if the series can stand on its own when the game is released.  A huge boost in multiplayer options should definitely help.
