Cryptic Reveals System Specs for Champions Online

With the PC release of Champions Online just around the corner, Cryptic is giving us all an early “heads-up” by revealing the minimum and recommended system specs for the superhero MMO. Take a look.
Minimum System Requirements
* OS:Windows XP/Vista
* CPU:2.5GHz Single Core or 1.8GHz Dual Core
* Memory:1GB RAM
* Video:NVIDIA GeForce 7800 / ATI Radeon X700 or HD / Intel Graphics with Dual Core
* Sound:DirectX Compatible Soundcard
* HDD:5GB Free Disk Space
* Network:ADSL / Cable Modem
* Disc:DVD-ROM
* Driver:DirectX 9.0c
Recommended System Configuration
* OS:Windows XP/Vista
* CPU:2GHz Dual Core or Better
* Memory:2GB RAM or Better
* Video:NVIDIA GeForce 8800 or Better / ATI Radeon HD3850 or Better
* Sound:DirectX Compatible Soundcard
* HDD:5GB Free Disk Space
* Network:ADSL / Cable Modem or Better
* Disc:DVD-ROM
* Driver:DirectX 9.0c
No one expected the cel-shaded RPG to be too demanding on systems, and it looks like it’s not. It doesn’t even require (or suggest) DirectX 10, which is quickly becoming the standard for major PC titles. Even my $500 laptop should be able to run it with no real problems, so anyone out there with a pc that can’t run it, it’s seriously time to upgrade.
Assuming the Xbox 360 version of Champions Online ever rears its head, we’re going to go ahead and give you an early peek at the system specs for that version as well.
