The upcoming expansion to Dungeons & Dragons Online, "Eberron Unlimited", is set to completely change the face of the fantasy MMORPG.  Not only will it raise the game’s level cap and introduce a new playable class, it will change the game’s payment structure, making it a free MMO with optional elements available for purchase.  Now we know when this will all happen, and it’s sooner than many people expected.

For longtime DDO players, the wholesale changes to the world of Eberron will arrive on August 4, 2009.  Everone else will get access to the update two days later, and it will be completely free to download for everyone.  Turbine, the game’s developer, has also released a slew of new images from the game, presumably in an effort to convince you to pony up the zero dollars for the game.  Seriously, it’s free.  Don’t make them beg for you.
