Dead Space Sequel in the Works

Space Series Going Back Off the Rails

by Veggie Jackson

Dead Space Extraction, the Wii-exclusive spin-off to EA’s space survival horror shooter, Dead Space, is getting pretty darn good reviews.  As an on-rails shooter, however, it certainly can’t be considered a true sequel.  Fortunately, a job listing on LinkedIn has all but confirmed that the real sequel will enter production in the next few months.

Posted by EA senior recruiter Jeff Ballard, the post states that the  "follow up” to Dead Space “is in the later stages of pre-production, ready for production in the next few months, with many of the navigational and combat mechanics in place."  This is the first real confirmation that the game is presently being worked on, which is great news for dismemberment fans everywhere.

With two games, an animated feature, and a comic book already released, and a sequel and a live-action movie in the works, EA is developing Dead Space into a full-fledged franchise.  I love it, but I’m surprised to see them throwing so much support behind a game that didn’t sell as well as they had hoped.

I don't know how I didn't know that it was getting a feature length film. Doesn't matter, I'd buy a Dead Space licensed panty shield.
