DLC Motorcycles Could Come to Gran Turismo 5

If Gran Turismo 5 Ever Comes Out

by Veggie Jackson

When it comes to realistic representations of four-wheeled vehicles, Gran Turismo 5 is pretty much unmatched.  With over 800 cars, GT 5’s roster is almost double that of Forza 3’s, and even eclipses the massive garage from GT 4.  But what about two-wheeled vehicles?  To date, no Gran Turismo game has attempted to tackle motorcycles, but GT 5 may be the first title in the series to do so.  It just won’t be at the game’s launch.

While bikes won’t make it into the initial release of Gran Turismo 5, they may be available as DLC at some point.  In the latest issue of PSM, series creator Kazunori Yamauchi explained;

"The environment we have right now allows us to drive motorcycles, but we need to get Gran Turismo 5 done first.  Once that's out of the way, if there's a strong demand for bikes, that's something we'd consider."

DLC motorcycles seem like a good idea, and the game’s use of the PlayStation Eye for head-tracking opens the game up to all sorts of possibilities for them.  With all the delays the game has seen, though, it’s nice to hear that they’re not focusing on them yet.  Based on the current development cycle, expect to hear more about these motorcycles some time in late 2018.

    Wouldn't it be awesome if they came out next week and where like "aahhh. we got you, here's the game!"
