E3 09: First Footage of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker
Kojima Double-Dips

Before today, pretty much all we knew about the next PSP-based Metal Gear Solid was its name; Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. As of the Sony E3 press conference, however, the picture got a bit clearer with some gameplay footage.
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker will be a true sequel to Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, taking place in an undisclosed location in Latin America ten years after Big Boss’ jungle adventure. The video shows plenty of stealth action in the classic Metal Gear style, along with other staples of the series such as overhead exclamation points and cardboard boxes as cover, and even a scene with a whole team of Solid Snakes fighting off some sort of aircraft.
The game looks solid, if a bit familiar, but what’s most shocking about the announcement is that Hideo Kojima showed up on stage for both Microsoft and Sony. Talk about hedging your bets.
We’ll be sure to continue coverage on this and just about very other major title at E3, so stick with Gamervision all week.
