Here in the States, it's next to impossible to find an actual, operating arcade, but in Japan, a fella can’t swing a dead cat without hitting one.  The thriving Japanese coin-op gaming industry got some huge news yesterday; Hideo Kojima is bringing Metal Gear Solid to arcades.  Today, we get our first look at the actual game cabinets.

Sure, the game will almost certainly never make it to the US, but the cabinet is nice looking, with a cool, high-tech tactical design.  The attached 3D goggles mentioned in yesterday’s press conference are nowhere to be seen, but it looks like the cabinets will be linked in sets of four, at least in some cases.  It could be a situation where 1, 2, and 4-cabinet set-ups exist.

No release date has been announced yet, but Japanese gamers can expect to get their hands on the cabinets sometime this year.  Hopefully, we get some details as to what exactly the game is as E3 rolls on.
