E3 09: Nintendo Announces Wii Fit Plus

Get Ready to Stand on Plastic!

by Veggie Jackson

Cammie Dunaway, the unofficial den mother of E3, contributed heavily to the Nintendo E3 press conference by announcing Wii Fit Plus, the sequel to the ridiculously profitable Wii Fit.

Much like its predecessor, Wii Fit Plus will utilize the Wii Balance Board to help gamers get in shape while having fun.  The new version will come with 6 new strength and yoga activities, and all of which can be mixed and matched to customize your workout nd focus on individual muscle groups. You’ll also be able to omit the interludes between exercises so you get a continuous workout.

Then Cammie got a little loose with it, and talked about the fun side of Wii Fit Plus. 15 new balance games make their appearance, ranging from juggling to skateboarding to a mind/body workout called “Perfect 10.”  There’s even a platforming type game that challenges players to hurdle logs and duck obstacles.

While this may not represent the “core gamer” service so many of us have been waiting for, it should represent another couple hundred million dollars in sales for Nintendo.
