EA Officially Announces Command & Conquer 4

For Realsies This Time

by Veggie Jackson

Yesterday, a Twitter post from EA’s British PR team accidentally announced that EA Los Angeles is working on Command & Conquer 4.  While we technically considered it a rumor, it was pretty clear that EA was very close to announcing a new C&C, and we expected an announcement some time in the next few weeks.  It looks like EA is in a rush as well, as they have officially announced the game today.

The TinyURL link that didn’t work yesterday now takes you to an official EA press release about the game.  The release lists a few of the options we can expect when C&C 4 launches in 2010 for the PC.  Among those features; 2 campaigns, each with 2-player co-op, a 5-on-5 objective-based multiplayer mode, as well as “persistent player progression and [an] all-in-one mobile base.”  We’ll get more info on July 24, when the next episode of Battlecast PrimeTime becomes available, and we’ll get our first look at the game on July 23 on GameTrailers TV.
