From a software perspective, 2010 has been a pretty solid year for the Wii. No only have we seen the newest iterations of two of Nintendo’s flagship franchises, this year has also brought us Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom, Sin & Punishment 2, No More Heroes 2, and Red Steel 2. The biggest release of the year, however, is yet to come, and as of today, we know exactly when. Epic Mickey is set for a November 30 release in the US.
The news was broken by Entertainment Weekly, which also provided the new trailer seen above, and confirmed by Disney. The European release is set for November 25, and the UK will get the game on November 26.
Generally speaking, I don’t get too excited about kid-friendly games, being a manly man and all, and titles that are exclusive to the Wii usually elicit unmitigated apathy in me, but this one’s different. Mickey Mouse, while not a favorite of mine, is arguably the most recognizable character in the world, and with Warren Spector heading up the project, my expectations are extremely high.
