Fall 2008 Release For Resistance 2
Insomniac Announces Sequel To PS3 Hit
With its focus on unique weapons and solid shooting action, the hit PS3 launch title Resistance: Fall of Man is one of the system’s finest offerings to date. Now Insomniac is continuing the saga of Nathan Hale and his battle against the Chimera, and this time, you’ll want to bring a friend. Or 7. Slated for a Fall, 2008 release, Resistance 2 will feature 8-player online co-op play (that’s right, EIGHT players) as well as up to 60 player online multiplayer. Multiple character classes and small squads with unique objectives will be important elements of the multiplayer experience. The original featured 40 player multiplayer, but co-op was sadly missing from the online experience, so these are pretty major upgrades to an already excellent game. The only other upgrade I’d want out of the sequel would be some more varied environments in which to ply your deadly trade. I’ve already played every WWII shooter ever, so I know grey stone houses and narrow, French streets well enough, thank you.

This was the main reason I bought a PS3. I hope the broaden the gameplay and don't rely on so many picture montages to stitch together the story.
