In some obscure, remote places (Europe, Asia, South America, Africa, the Middle East, Asutralia) soccer, or “Feetball,” is a big deal.  Hence, in those places, FIFA games are a big deal, and people who live in those places fret over things like cover athletes.  In America, we have football, so we don’t have to worry about such things.  Even in America, though, there are pockets of soccer afficionadoes, and for them, we present the cover athletes for the American release of FIFA 10.  Could someone please tell me who they are?

Seriously, though, the cover stars are Cuauhtémoc Blanco of the MLS’ Chicago Fire, Sacha Kljestan of Chivas USA, and Frank Lampard of Chelsea.  I tease soccer fans because…well, because it’s so easy, but FIFA has been one of the most improved sports franchises in recent years, so I am somewhat interested in the game.  Maybe if they put in some sort of mini-game where you didn’t have to use their feet so much, the ball was more oblong, and the goal was to methodically move downfield play-by-play in hopes of reaching a sort of “end-zone.”  It just might be crazy enough to work.
