Fallout: New Vegas is planned for later this year, but we’ve seen nary an image from the Obsidian-developed follow-up to Fallout 3.  All of that changes today, as a slew of pics from the post-apocalyptic action RPG have arrived.  One of them has a Super Mutant wearing a woman’s wig.  The rest of them, sadly, don’t, but they're still interesting, I guess.

In addition to getting a good look at the game’s visuals, which look a whole lot like those of Fallout 3, the images give us some insight into the game’s features.  In one image, the player is in VATS mode, and one of the options available to him is “Fore!”  This is presumably an example of the game’s new special attacks, which are reported to be available for all weapons.  The following image, showing what might be the targeted “Powder Ganger” catching the business end of a nine iron, seems to back this up.  More clear is the squad command screen, showing how players will control their teammates.

At first, I was worried about a non-Bethesda-made Fallout, but these images, along with the announced features, have given me more confidence in the project.  Super Mutants in lady-wigs don’t hurt, either.
