Future Hall Of Famer Leaves Baseball For Games
From Fastballs To Fireballs
Curt Schilling is one of the greatest pitchers of his era. The 2001 World Series MVP is one of the top 15 strikeout artists of all time and has the best strikeout to walk ratio of the modern era. He is also apparently an avid gamer. In late ’06, Schill founded Green Monster Games (now known as 38 Games, after his jersey number), and has since been busy developing an MMO called Copernicus. With his retirement coming after this upcoming season, Schilling will focus on the game, stating "After baseball, I will do nothing except be a father, husband and run this company." Still in the development stage, Copernicus is an original IP that Schilling plans to turn into a series of TV shows, action figures, comics, games and movies. Obviously every company wants to turn their IP into all those wonderful things, but with Spawn creator Todd McFarlane and legendary fantasy writer R.A. Salvatore on board as creative partners, 38 Games seems to at least have the big guns to pull it off.
Expect a 2010 release for Copernicus and a 2013 Hall Of Fame induction for Schilling.

Rob - duly noted and corrected. Thanks.
It is surprising to learn that more and more famous people are gamers.
