God of War Collection Coming to PSN
Priced Like a Collector's Edition For Some Reason

The God of War Collection for PS3 is awesome for several reasons. Not only does it combine two of the most critically acclaimed action games of all time in one package, it also improved the games’ visuals, locked in the frame rate at 60 FPS, and added Trophy support and a demo for God of War III. It also allowed players to buy the first two God of War games without having to search for used copies of them in multiple stores, or find copies with decent boxes and instruction manuals. Imagine how much easier it would have been, however, if we could have bought this package without having to leave our couches, much less our homes? Imagine no more, because Sony is bringing the Collection to the PlayStation Network as a downloadable title.
On Tuesday, November 2, the same day as the release of God of War: Ghost of Sparta, both remastered games will be available on the PSN. While the titles will still run in 720p resolution at 60 frames per second, they will not include the demo. Furthermore, the games will be available individually or as a pair.
According to the European PlayStation blog, each game will cost €18/£14, while the bundle will be priced at €30/£24. This translates to about $25 per game, and about $42 for the two. Since physical copies of the God of War Collection can be bought new for $20, this seems like a terrible deal, but perhaps the prices will drop a bit when they’re announced for the US. Or, maybe Sony is taking a page out of Microsoft’s book, and pricing their old games as if gamers aren’t aware of retailers like GameStop, Walmart, Amazon, or Target.
