The Week’s Best Free Flash Games
Welcome to GV’s Freebies, a new weekly feature here at Gamervision. Each week, we’ll be bringing you the best free flash games the web has to offer, each with a description and a little of the GV flair you’ve come to expect. This week, we’ll be profiling some of the more popular games in general, but in future weeks you can expect lists that follow a specific theme. Next week: Games featuring ninjas. Awwww yeah, that’s right. Ninjas.
Mass Attack
Simple yet addictive, Mass Attack challenges you to match weights using “inflating” balls of mass. Hold down the button too long, and you’ll tip the scales. Too short and you’ll need to start over. Not exactly a visually arresting experience, but your brain likes games, too. I promise.
Paintball: The Game
This one has nothing to do with outdoor simulated combat. The “paint” comes from the fact that you paint in the path for your ball to take. The “ball” comes from…ummm, a ball. Fun stuff, if a bit on the easy side.
Mysterious Rings
This one can be very frustrating because of its difficulty, but there’s a great feeling of satisfaction when you start to really “get it”. Be preared to fail the second board a lot, though, before you find your stride.
Gravity Ball
Like Breakout, but with an actual gravity engine. Some level variety (basketball level, Ring Toss level, etc.) and decent background music help make this one worth at least a playthrough.
Red Block
It’s extremely simple, graphically minimalist, and it looks like it might not work right. It’s also in French, which is a major drawback, but it still manages to be a good bit of fun. The idea is to keep the red block away from the blue ones as long as possible. That’s it. No levels, no characters, no goals even. Just blocks. Fun, but only for about minutes.
Filler
Another inflatable ball game, this one tasks you with filling up a certain percentage of the board with circles without being hit by the bouncing balls. Kind of a circular version of Jezzball, if anyone remembers that old Windows game.
Gold Miner
This cross between Snood and one of those claw machines at K-Mart is an exercise in patience and timing. This is just the demo version, but onestly, that’s all you’ll really want to play. It is a Flash game, after all. Try using your best prospector voice while playing. That should help.
Comments
I love silly free games.
Great way to look busy and not be working
