Here's the Final Fantasy XIV Opening Cinematic
Hey, No Belly Shirt. Awesome!
Let’s see, this video includes impractical swords, magic spells, airships, adorable cat-girls, haughty elves, impossible landscapes, and a male main character who kind of looks like a girl. Must be a Final Fantasy cinematic.
Yes, the opening cinematic for Final Fantasy XIV has arrived, and, as expected, it’s gorgeous. The video shows a young Human Hyur warrior looking at a tarot card and experiencing a vision of he and his compatriots in a fight against a plant-like monster of some kind. The vision then switches to a glorious battle between a massive (and I mean MASSIVE) dragon and an equally massive airship. Despite the fact that the vision ends with our hero hurtling to his death, it seems that he chooses to listen to the tarot card, and undertake this mission. Idiot. Anyway, this beautiful piece of footage is what we’ll all watch right before we spend the next forty hours collecting boar tusks.

Nothing like an opening cinematic to give you unattainably high expectations for a game.
Yeah, that dragon was pretty bad ass.
Donkey Kong Country gets a frame by frame but not this? I dissaprove. Hope you ff fans caught the espers (summons/eidolons/guardian forces etc etc) that popped out during the surge of light that came up from and through the dragon towards the end.
That "plant-like monster of some kind" is a Malboro and this game looks sick. Can't wait for the ps3 version to ruin my life.
A Marlboro?
