Hulu Plus Coming to Consoles

PS3 Next Month, 360 Next Year, Wii...Who Knows?

by Veggie Jackson

Earlier today, online TV portal Hulu announced their Hulu Plus service, which will allow paying users to watch entire seasons of popular shows.  Originally, it was announced as a service for PCs, iPods, iPhones, and some internet-enabled Samsung HDTVs and Blu-Ray players.  Now, however, gamers (real gamers – not iPhone gamers) have a reason to be interested.  Hulu Plus is coming to the PS3, and eventually to the Xbox 360.

According to the Hulu Plus Guided Tour, the service will show up on PS3s next month, while the 360 will have to wait until some time next year.  For $9.99 a month, users will be able to watch full seasons of current ABC, NBC, and Fox television shows in HD , as well as full runs of older shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Arrested Development.

No info has been given as to any special features that may be included in the PS3 version, such as Move support, but Microsoft has announced that the Xbox 360 implementation will support Xbox Live parties and Kinect support, but will only be available to Xbox Live Gold members.
