CVG.com is reporting that according to Xbox World 360 Magazine, Infinity Ward, developer of the first, second and fourth installments of the Call of Duty series, is "definitely" working on a sci-fi shooter.  Whether this will be a Call of Duty title or a new property is unknown right now, but a statement by the developer seems to indicate that this may be a brand new franchise.  Said a representative of the company on their official blog, "The recently renegotiated deal may not seem like much of an impact from the outside perspective, but it has laid the ground work and kick started our future project, as well as the possibility of a unique new IP by Infinity Ward, that we'll have complete control over." 

Obviously, seeing IW back on the Call of Duty franchise would be the answer to many fans' prayers, but a completly new IP created and controlled b the celebrated developer could also be hug.  I have a funny feeling that we'll be hearing more about this some time next week.  We'll be live at E3, so stay tuned.
