Iron Man Video Shows Entire Armory
All The Armors He’ll Wear In The Game
Despite being an unabashed Marvel Comics fanboy, I’m still not 100% sold on the Iron Man game coming out for every platform in existence. The character models look incredible, but there are early reports that the game handles like a shoebox when Iron Man’s not flying, and it’s a movie game, so it’s automatically got a strike against it. This video helps, though.
So let’s look at a breakdown of what we’ve just seen:
First, there’s the comic armors, which will be unlockable:
Classic Armor – Iron Man’s most iconic and frequently worn armor, this was what the character looked like in over 200 issues of the comic.
MK 1 Classic Armor – Iron Man as he first appeared, way back in 1962. Admittedly, it looks a bit different here than in the books, but that’s because the original looks like a giant coffee can.
Extremis Armor – Iron Man as he looks in the comics today. The Mk III armor in the movie is based off of this design.
Hulkbuster Armor – Tony’s high-powered tank-like armor was only seen a few times in the comics, usually when Iron Man needs to fight the Hulk. Does this mean the Hulk “cameo” will be as an opponent? Man, I hope so.
Then, of course, there’s the movie armors:
Mk I Movie Armor – Tony’s first suit of armor from the movie. Based mostly on the classic comic armor he first wore.
Mk II Movie Armor – Tony’s “flight test” suit. Not sure how much of a role this one will play in the film, but we know it’s playable in the game.
Mk III Movie Armor – The game’s main armor, based mostly off of Adi Granov's drawings of the Extremis armor.
And finally, there will be 2 console-specific armors for next-gen systems:
Silver Centurion Armor (Xbox 360) – This is a recreation of the armor Iron Man wore in the late 1980’s. It was initially a test armor for Tony to try new concepts on, but eventually became his main armor for a time.
Ultimate Iron Man (PS3) – From the “Ultimate Marvel Universe,” a separate timeline where the Marvel super heroes and super villains didn’t emerge until the late 1990’s.
Exciting news for comic junkies like myself, semi-interesting for non-fanboys who are considering the game, anyway. I really really really really really REALLY hope that Hulk makes it into this movie as an enemy you can actually fight, and that Hulkbuster armor does nothing but stoke those fires of excitement. What do you think? Did they include the armor you wanted most? Do the console exclusives sway you at at all? Do you even plan on giving up $60 hard-earned dollars for ol’ shellhead? Leave a comment, let me know

the hulkbuster armor looks like metroid.
i like when games come out on all the consoles, because the converse of not being able to play a great game because it wasn't released for your system is just too annoying. that being said, though, it makes me wonder if the games will be tailored to each system, or just poor duplicates that don't take advantage of what each system has to offer gamers.
I hope this game isn't another Superman Returns.
WOW!!
Super hero's who change clothes.
So far... Movie games for the current generation of systems have been really dumb. This one does not look promising.....
Wow.
this sucks
I have to get a 360 so i can play as the Silver Centurion Armor?!
Grrrraaaahhhhh!!!!!!!!!!
