John Dillinger's Descendant Threatens to Sue EA
Defending the Honor of a Murdering Thief

The threat of a somewhat frivolous lawsuit has been made against EA. Jerry Scalf, a marketing executive for the Indiana Pacers, and a man who claims to be the grandson of the half-sister of John Dillinger, is threatening to sue the publishing giant for using the name “Dillinger” for some of the guns in the Godfather series. You read that correctly; he claims to be the grandson of the half-sister of John Dillinger.
Mr. Scalf has threatened to sue EA for “millions of dollars” for using his alleged ancestor’s name, claiming that, as the head of Dillinger LLC and johndillinger.com, he has complete legal control over Dillinger's estate, including the usage of his name. Two years ago, Mr Scalf attempted unsuccessfully to prevent an Arizona community from celebrating “Dillinger Days.”
EA has sought a dismissal of the case, petitioning a San Francisco judge to throw it out on grounds that the games are "works of artistic expression," and therefore protected by the first amendment.

i thought only marvel and dc could copyright a word.
There are few sources more credible to speak for a deceased mass murderer than the grandson of a half sister. Iron clad, open and shut case. Pay that man his money.
Dear EA.
Just rename the gun "the Scalf" and make it only fire blanks.
See what that douchebag does then.
