Mark Wahlberg Will Play Nathan Drake
Uncharted Movie May Also Include DeNiro, Pesci

When talking about the rumored Uncharted movie, it seems almost silly to consider anyone other than Nathan Fillion for the lead role of Nathan Drake. The character is so clearly based on the look and attitude of the Firefly/Castle actor that people just assumed that if a movie were made, he’d be tapped for the lead. Well, apparently Hollywood doesn’t share that opinion, and had someone else in mind for the role; Mark Wahlberg.
Wahlberg confirmed that he’d been cast as Drake in an interview with MTV News, where he also noted that director, David O. Russell, wants to cast Joe Pesci as Drake’s uncle, and Robert DeNiro as his father.
The Uncharted series has maintained a Teen rating from the ESRB, but the film version may be a bit more adult. Wahlberg noted that they wouldn’t be doing a "watered-down version, that's for sure,” indicating that an R rating may be in store for the action movie.
Wahlberg looks enough like Nathan Drake, and he's certainly got the physicality for the role, but I’m not sure he has the same kind of swagger as our favorite treasure hunter. Don’t get me wrong; Wahlberg has swagger, but it’s a Boston tough guy swagger. Drake’s is more of smirking, globe-trotting smart-ass who just might shoot you in the head kind of swagger.

Well, that's one movie I won't be seeing now.
I hate Marky Mark more than life itself.
Its all actor appeal. Most of the movies Hollywood sells to people are for the wrong reasons. Of course they're gonna get a big name actor everyone knows. IT SELLS, they wouldn't get the guy made for the part because no one has really ever heard of him.
Yeah, great move. Because Max Payne went over so well.
Wasn't there someone else that would have been a much better choice? Perhaps Nathan Fillion? Maybe some Josh Duhamel? No? I'm going to file this movie the same as I did for Max Payne... Might watch on Netflix later that release year.
