Mass Effect 2 DLC Free For PS3 Players

But No Dr. Pepper Content

by Veggie Jackson

PS3 players who jump into the Mass Effect universe this month will have an interactive comic to catch them (and their character) up to speed on the events of the first game.  But what about those awesome pre-order bonuses that Xbox 360 players got for ponying up $5 early?  PS3 fans won’t need to worry about them, as they will be offered for free on the PlayStation Network.

The Terminus Armor, which increases Shepard’s speed, shields, and ammo capacity, and the M-490 Blackstorm Heavy weapon, which creates miniature black holes and tears the living shit out of anyone stupid enough to get in Shepard’s way, will be offered as free DLC through February 23.

These two pieces of equipment should definitely help players tear through Vorcha, Batarians, Varren, Geth, and Collectors with ease, but as far as we know, PS3 versions of Shepard will miss out on the Dr. Pepper –sponsored DLC items, like the Umbra Visor and the super-cool Recon Hood.
