Mass Effect 2's Cerberus Daily News Going on Hiatus
More Updates to Precede DLC, Mass Effect 3

Does anyone remember the Cerberus Daily News? It was the fictional news feed that came through the Cerberus Network, the DLC portal utilized by Mass Effect 2. Every day, the CDN brought us a new story about the various galactic goings-on of the 22nd century. Guess what; that shit is still going! That’s right, the good folks at BioWare have updated the news feed every day for over 330 straight days, filling players in on the imaginary battles, duels, and cultural events that shape the Mass Effect universe. Yesterday, however, it was announced that the service is being phased out.
After January 24, the one-year anniversary of the launch of the Cerberus Daily News, the service will go on hiatus. Daily updates will stop, except for three weeks in 2011; one week of posts will lead up to the next DLC pack for Mass Effect 2, while two weeks of posts will precede the release of Mass Effect 3.
Hopefully, the service will pick back up once Mass Effect 3 launches. BioWare’s commitment to the Mass Effect universe and its lore is remarkable, and these postings only serve to add to its depth and scope. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got a year of updates to catch up on.
