Media Molecule Wanted To Out-Portal Portal

Here’s a fun one. In an interview with Kikizo, Media Molecule co-founders Mark Healey and Alex Evans reveal that they had an idea for a game to be published by Valve. According to Evans, Valve was interested in partnering with the duo, but nothing ever came of it. If it had moved forward, the game would have been, according to Evans, “more Portally than Portal,” and was described as “Portal, but with scale factor." I’m not sure what that means, but man it sounds cool. Oh well, add it to the list of cool game concepts that we’ll probably never see.
The failed partnership with Valve did result in their talks with Sony, which, in turn, led to the creation of LittleBigPlanet, so it’s a case of one door closing and another opening. Just like Portal!

I think that means there would be size portals? Shrink portals? Grow portals? Who knows. I bet it would have had Stephen Fry as a voice-over, and that's awesome.
