More Namco Classic Remakes On The Way
To Xbox Live Arcade
Did you love Pac-Man: Championship Edition? How about Galaga Legions? If so, you probably wouldn’t mind seeing more brightly-colored remakes of classic titles. Fortunately for you, neither would Namco Bandai. According to an interview with MTV Multiplayer, the Japanese game makers reportedly have plans to remake more of their arcade classics. In the interview, the head of the team that brought you the two aforementioned remakes stated that Namco Bandai is looking to overhaul the company’s “masterpiece games” with new visuals and game modes
No specific titles have been named as of yet, but Namco’s library of arcade classics is surprisingly bereft of well-known games. There’s the beloved Dig Dug, which is just begging for a “Milenium Edition” or whatever, and Pole Position, but after that, the next most popular title is Xevious. Xevious was cool, but is anyone really clamoring for a remake? And don’t even try to push that Bosconian crap on me, because I ain’t hearing it.
Having trouble deciding what to remake, Namco Bandai? Two words for you; “Rolling” and “Thunder.” Hell yeah.
