New Images, New Cover Athlete Finalists For Madden 10
Every Time, I Want To Say "Madden Oh-Ten"
Two things regarding Madden NFL 10: First off, a new set of images showing the incredible detail in the game’s character models has been released. Take a look:

Looks great, and if you know football, you’ll see that it’s Running Back Ronnie Brown taking the snap, meaning that the game will make use of the Dolphins’ unique offensive formation, the “Wildcat.” I just hope that the depth of field effect that’s shown is either toned down, non-existent, or exclusive to instant replays in the finished game, because it’s a bit over the top.
Secondly, in what has got to be one of the most overwrought and dragged out reveals in the history of gaming, the last three finalists for the cover of Madden NFL 10 have been announced. The final three stars attempting to “Fight for Every Yard” are Pittsburgh Safety, Troy “Soul Glow” Polamalu, Indianapolis QB, Peyton “How have I not been on a cover yet?” Manning, and Arizona Wideout, Larry “I single-handedly dismantled the Eagles in the playoffs, therefore ruining Veggie Jackson’s year” Fitzgerald. All three are elite players at their respective positions, and, in my opinion, represent three of the four best finalists, along with Adrian Peterson.

Given the glacial pace of this cover athlete decision process, it could be a while before EA actually decides which of the nine finalists make the cover, but at least we now know what the options are.
So what do you think? Who do you want to see make this year’s cover, then suffer a debilitating ankle injury in week 2 due to the Madden curse?

I'm betting on Larry Fitz, and here's why. All the other promo pics we've seen thus far have been of players in action, or actually on the field. Larry's however, is of him in the tunnel. The picture is from behind, so we get an idea of "following" him onto the field as he's about to make his appearance. The grand spectacle of his entrance in front of him, and no one but us there to see him arrive. There really can be only one cover athlete, and this year his name is Larry Fitzgerald.
plus, he'd be the first guy to be on both NCAA and Madden covers during his career, so there's that too.
Say Two Oh Ten then. Since I'm a Titans fan. I'd pick Polamalu. Kidding, after the playoffs, it should be Fitzgerald.
I'm still betting on AP. The Steelers got 2 noms so that they can feel superior even when neither of them wins. And although Fitz deserves it just as much (read: more), I hate him.
I had been thinking that AP would be the shoe-in, but I think that 00.19 makes a convincing case about the actual way these pictures have been showed to us.
I second his vote: it will be Fitzie.
I think there is a clear top 4 being, Fitz, Ed Reed, Polamalu, and big ben.
Fitz obvioulsy lit up the nfl this year. and most peopel would probolly see as as a clear winner. but you gotta realize what the others have done.
Reed is an amazing ball hawk. I play CB/Saftey for my high school team and base my coverage on him. He is the best Defensive back when it comes to reading the QB. and when he gets the, magic happens
Polamalu is simalar to reed. He is always around the ball and makes teh impossible to make tackles possible.
Big ben i feel only for his clutch ability. He is a comeback kid. And won many games during the regular season because of that. As well as teh super Bowl
As for why i think AP does not make it is because i feel the four i mentioned deserve it more.
My vote is larry fitz
