New Jordan Moments Trailer For NBA 2K11
My Favorite Moment: When He Hosted Saturday Night Live
One of the most intriguing features of 2K’s upcoming basketball sim, NBA 2K11, is the inclusion of Jordan Moments. This mode lets players recreate ten of the greatest moments of His Airness’ legendary career, much like the Madden Moments found in this year’s Madden game, except focusing on one player. A new trailer starring current NBA stars highlights this mode, and brings a few lulz with it.
Boston’s Rajon Rondo, Chicago’s Derrick Rose, Atlanta’s Josh Smith, Philadelphia’s Andre Iguodala, and Oklahoma City’s Russell Westbrook star in this video, where they debate Jordan’s greatest moment. They manage to be pretty funny while doing it, too. The video goes through many of Michael’s greatest moments, from his legendary 38-point “flu” game against the Utah Jazz to his shoulder-shruggingly astonishing six three-pointers in the first half of game 1 of the 1992 NBA Finals, all of which will be playable when the game arrives on October 5.
I’ve rarely felt so conflicted about a sports game match up before. EA looks to have improved their basketball series significantly with NBA Elite 11, but 2K’s product has been superior for the past few years. Jordan’s inclusion certainly helps 2K’s case, too, but Elite comes with NBA Jam, so that’s kind of a wash. Hopefully the release of NBA Elite’s demo will sway me one way or the other. Either that, or I’d better scrouge up $120 for both.

The greatest moment is the shrug.
