The Japanese version of Square Enix’s recently released DS title, Dragon Quest V, contained some good news for fans of the Disney/Final Fantasy mash-up franchise, Kingdom Hearts.  The game’s instruction manual includes an ad for a 2008 release of the newest KH title, Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days.  This only applies to the Japanese version, but a release date that soon indicates that a localized version can’t be too far behind.  Q1 2009, perhaps?

Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days will be the first game in the series to include multiplayer support, and will follow the exploits of Roxas, Sora’s “Nobody.”  To be honest, I don’t know what that means, but I loved the first one and a half games (didn’t finish the second). No word on release dates for the other two Kingdom Hearts spin-offs, Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, for the PSP, or Kingdom Hearts: Coded, for cell phones, but at least we know we’ll be stylus-swiping our way through Neverland, Atlantis, Sherwood Forest and Wonderland relatively soon.  Localization team, don't fail me now!
