Next Kingdom Hearts Will Be on 3DS
Anthropomorphism and Androgyny

Normally, when a major company announces a major title, they do so at an expo, via a press release, or in some other way that's intended to draw attention to it. That's why Famitsu's interview (translated by Andriasang) with Tetsuya Nomura is so strange. In the interview, which mostly focuses on Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep-Final Mix, which was announced at TGS, Nomura revealed that the next Kingdom Hearts game will be on the 3DS, and is tentatively titled, "Kingdom Hearts 3D."
When asked about the next entry in the series he helped create, Nomura stated, "Next is Kingdom Hearts 3D," adding, "The time frame for 3D is after Re:Coded." He then went on to explain that once the Final Mix team wraps up on that game, they'll shift over to the 3DS version.
I played the first two Kingdom Hearts for the PS2, but even then, the story was already getting convoluted and more confusing than it was worth. I haven't followed the series since then, so I can't imagine how labyrinthine and cryptic it must be by now, but the prospect of the game in 3D is certainly one that could bring me back to the series. Here's hoping they streamline the fiction a bit to make the game more accessible to players who may not be familiar with its previous iterations.
