Next Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 Character Revealed?

Rumor - Deadpool Joins the Party

by Veggie Jackson

Despite the fact that it made $87 million dollars over the weekend, the Wolverine movie didn’t do right by one of its main characters; Deadpool.  Sure, Fox did a great job of casting Wade Wilson; Ryan Reynolds has the perfect mix of athleticism and snarkiness, but anyone who’s seen the movie knows what they did with him, and any fan of the character knows that it just wasn’t right.  Fortunately, it looks like ‘Pool will be getting some redemption this year, thanks to Activision.

While it hasn’t been officially confirmed by Activision, it looks like the “Merc with a mouth” will be a playable character in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2: Fusion.  Included in each copy of the X-Men Origins Wolverine game is a small ad for MUA 2, which is shown above.  It includes Hulk, Wolverine, Daredevil, Spider-Man, Captain America, Iron Man and Songbird, who are all confirmed as playable, as well as Deadpool.  It’s not quite official confirmation, but we’re pretty sure it’s true, and it’s substantial enough to make us close the door on new entries into our Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 contest.

Fortunately, Deadpool is dressed in his comic book attire, and not the atrocious redesign that appeared in the movie, so at least we’ll be able to play as a legitimate version of the character later this year.  Deadpool was playable in the first Marvel Ultimate Alliance, and was one of the more well-rounded and versatile characters in the game, so having him return to the proceedings should be a joy.

Does the inclusion of this relatively obscure character sway you one way or the other on whether ort not you’ll be buying MUA2?
