Nokia Closes N-Gage Development Studio
The Beginning of the End of the End

I can’t believe we’re even still talking about this thing, but it looks like yet another nail has been driven into the coffin of the N-Gage. Nokia’s N-Gage Design Studio, a development house devoted to the portable “gaming” device, has been closed down. The closure actually came on June 30, meaning that the studio shut down over two weeks ago, and it took this long for anyone to notice.
The Vancouver-based studio was responsible for porting games like Call of Duty, Tiger Woods, Tony Hawk and Tomb Raider to the failed handheld. Approximately 100 developers will lose their jobs out of this announcement; part of Nokia’s plan to cut 1,700 jobs across all departments.
I have to ask; does this affect anyone other than the now jobless devs? Are any of you guys actually playing N-Gage games anymore? Did anyone ever play them? Did anyone ever even own one?
