And so begins the wackiness…

To celebrate April Fools’ Day, Bethesda has announced that they have cut the prices of all of their Xbox 360 downloadable content for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion in half for the next week, with one exception.  The notorious and reviled Horse Armor Pack will actually cost twice as much as usual.

Friday marks the third anniversary of the shameful release of the Horse Armor pack, and Bethesda has decided to honor their ill-conceived, ill-advised, ill-received content pack; “In celebration of the arrival of April, the wackiness of April Fool's Day, and the upcoming 3rd anniversary of the release of Horse Armor (Friday, April 3), we are pleased to announce that for the next week all Oblivion DLC for Xbox 360 is half price, except for Horse Armor, which is twice as much as usual.”

It may sound like a hoax, but the Xbox Live Marketplace website indeed confirms it; Horse Armor costs 400.

This is a great deal for those who have yet to download all the cool extras that Oblivion has to offer.  I fully expect sales of all the good stuff to spike heavily this week.  Sadly, I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised to find that Horse Armor sales go up significantly, as well.
